In a statement issued in Jos on Sunday, the Registrar, Mr Monday Danjem, that the decision was taken pending an emergency Senate meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 10. He urged students and members of the university community to remain calm and go about their normal businesses as the situation has been brought under control.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sebastine Maimako, who briefed newsmen after inspecting the damage disclosed that the fire destroyed examination scripts, books and crucial materials. "On the fourth floor, which was completely razed down, we have the departments of Psychology, Political Science, Economics and Office of Dean of Management sciences"
