The US government will next week host 19 Northern state governors in
Washington DC. The governors will be visiting the states at the
invitation of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP).
They will be participating in the Northern Nigeria Governors Symposium slated for Tuesday October 18th to Friday October 21st. USIP Senior Advisors and former ambassadors, Princeton Lyman and Johnnie Carson who addressed a pre-symposium media briefing yesterday October 12th, said the institute’s Northern Governors’ symposium was designed to amongst other things, seek possible ways of attaining lasting peace in the North.
